  1. Yes put a working 2 way system in.

Cheeky i don't normally post in public but you have driven me too it.

That's the advice a few people have said, as in just stay away from the texecom wireless stuff, what would you recommend as a hybrid system, for all out wireless I've used Pyronix Enforcer panels and they've been pretty good with the exception of the key fobs being poop

PM me your number I will call you tomorrow. There is no issue with our systems and I can assure you they work.

  2. Hi Adrian,

originally the com-ip with the app didn't work on earlier panels without it programmed as not used and the settings of the ip module changed.

This wouldnt allow you to program the the  arc to send the messages out over ip and use the app?

Or has this been addressed with App using Wintex protocol now rather than Simple protocol?

No still the same protocol as far as I am aware, pretty sure its works with any panel that natively supports the ComIP which i think was version 7, it may have been earlier

  3. Montex, I never thought of that. More like setting up your own ARC, I wouldn't call that private reporting personally.

Interesting to hear about the push notifications, will this become the new IP speech dialler; time will tell.

Do you know if it will require new hardware yet?

No new hardware required, the rest covered by the other guys. Should work on older panels as well, that's part of the testing, the IP protocol has not changed since introduction so i think it will work on Premier panels back to V7, maybe earlier.

  4. It doesn't currently do private reporting AFAIK.

It can do it through Montex, but its not the slickest solution by any means. We are currently testing internally a new version of the apps with push notification, should be available early next year.

  5. many thanks Adrian,

the refference to APCO requirements not allowing (i may well be wrong), but i thought that was a comment from i got from James? so perhaps i misunderstood.

this little tiny one man band voice is getting to long in the tooth to joins BSIA now, can you imagine the disruption i might cause them ;).

We like trouble at BSIA, I and others like a bit of disruption, make for interesting meetings, and gets things done, the old ways have to change, and so do the people involved the EU is going to stop all this national requirements nonsense and I for one fully support it

  6. An pure example imho, i have said it before - about time the inspectorates stood up and told APCO it is 'us' the alarm trade who now how best to electonicaly protect vulnerable targets.

Nothing to do with ACPO, BS8243 was mainly written by installers & inspectorates, we have always had code and fob as an option as it is more secure. If you want to get involved join the BSIA and get your voice heard.

  7. TBH for us it is great, we deal all over the world now, and IFSEC is cheaper to meet all of our overseas customers than getting on aeroplanes, and most of them come over, I like it to put faces to names like I did with some of the guys on here a couple of years ago, so come on guys, last IFSEC in Brum get your buts down to our stand and grab a free beer.
