Replacing Optima Xm6

Featured Replies

I am thinking of replacing my old panel. I only need the basics, and as the cable is already in place I was going to replace it with the Optima G3. I know it is a basic DIY panel.

I was wondering if anyone knows how similar the wiring is ? Will it be a quick easy like for like replacement ?

I would be grateful of any comments.

Regards, Dom.

Should be a straight forward swap. switch the mains off before you do anything, you might find that both panels have the same back box, saving a bit of work.

Fit a new battery also, the outside may also ring till you reconect the power to it or for twenty minutes.

Take your time and label everything.

Is there any reason for wanting to fit a Accenta?

I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

I want to replace with Optima G3, as I already have an old Optima XM6. I there a better DIY panel that I could use with the existing wiring, PIR's and bell ?

:) a good tip is to read the manual before you start.

Hi

why not fit a texecom veritas 8, it's as large (if not larger) than the old optima unit and therefore more room to work with internally. Also the programming is simpler and the panel is more versatile.

They're available from certain electrical wholesalers.
