For some unknown reason the two keypads are beeping every 3 seconds with a flashing Power LED and showing the number "6" in the Zone.

I have looked at the user and engineer manual and Im not sure what this relates to.

The power to the control panel is fine.

Would it be the internal Power supply?

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Steve

Could be the internal power supply, or a fuse. It bleeps every 5 seconds for a powere fail I think. I believe the display will only flash a 6 if that zone has triggered an alarm at some point. Pressing reset should clear any alarm activation displays but the power problem could require some further investigation.

Has this system ever been serviced? Chances are it's about to fall over for good.

Press reset, it's indicating an alarm condition.

Service Engineer and all round nice bloke :-)

The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.

Thanks for suggestions.

The beeping was going off every three seconds and not the normal 5 seconds to indicate an external power failure.

The external keypads would not respond to any resets (nor any key presses).

I disconnected the external mains supply and then removed the control panel cover.

I then removed the internal battery backup supply for 30 seconds and reconnected it. The control panel immediately went into tamper mode and was reset by entering the engineer code.

Since doing a "reset" the system seems to be fine.

Perhaps it just needed resetting (I hope).

Thanks again for your help and advice.

Steve
