Powering 12v cctv cameras off an alarm psu

Featured Replies

Guys, dont delve much into cctv, and usually when we do we put in a seperate supply, but is it feasable to run 2 silent witness dome of a galaxy 3A SMART PSU, without the need for a seperate PSU, this is in my home, and im struggling for space i wont be using all 3a so i thought i could use this PSU.

Is this wise, or should i be fine. Saves me loads of hassle if its ok to do. Plus its backed up as my DVR is on a UPS, and ive got 7ah batteries in both the alarm panel and SMART PSU

cheers

Smart PSU will be fine, double check the rating of the camers though.

Agree, should be fine, the effect on the PSU when mains off will be pretty obviously ibe the batteries wont last as long but other than that, no problemo.
