I spent nearly twenty years responding to the fruits of your labours. I was a Firefighter in London but now I'm retired (medically unfortunately) and living in Sheffield. A friend from the service went into the fire alarm business and is doing really well. I would have joined him had it not been for the accident. Oh well.

I've been out for four years and still miss it. I stay in touch with all my old mates. Most of whom have now retired or gone into the fire protection business.

Many thanks for the welcome and great suggestions. Unfortunately I am not in the best of health thanks to some questionable surgery! (Am I starting to sound bitter and twisted!)Surgeons nearly killed me twice but saved me three times, so I'm still in their debt. My mobility has improved and I can get around o.k. so may be in the future I will re-asses things.
