Guest chriscross
Hi everone Am new to this site so forgive me if I make a mess of this. Wondered if anyone can give advise on a Galaxy 2 sms. Fitted one today and was hoping to be able to get the SMS directed to a landline (as can be done texting with a mobile phone to landline). The only success I got was sending it to the customers mobile but not theirs or any other landline phone that I tried. Honeywell tech sup.(yes i got through) said it is down to the sms centre. Tried various sms centre nos. with same results! For those that dont know yes you can text from your mobile to landline. Try it. You should get a electonically generated voice speaking the message to you. Any help would be appreciated. Guest chriscross
Do you not have to enable this on the landline ? No seems to work to any BT line. The only down side is if you have 1571 BT answer enabled any messages go straight on to it and dont ring the phone. secomandy
You could try using galaxys own sms no which is 07958879889 or if it is a BT run thing then maybe you have to use an o2 sms message no Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/7991-galaxy-sms-sending/#findComment-73663 Share on other sites
Guest
Do you not have to enable this on the landline ? It is enabled by default by BT, you have to opt out. I found out recently my landline was geared up for receiving SMS messages when it received one then played it to my answerphone minus the first part of it, useful. Yup, right pain in the*** especially as we hadn't asked for it; BT just turned it on without any warning. We discovered this when it started calling us and reading unwanted text messages to us. Turned it off PDQ as it had no obvious value and was difficult to use. hastings
Why SMS ? Might as well use SD1! Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/7991-galaxy-sms-sending/#findComment-73738 Share on other sites
Guest chriscross
Why SMS ?Might as well use SD1! May have to use an SD1/2 or the onboard digi and ARC. I wanted to use SMS as it is also built into the panel. You could try using galaxys own sms no which is 07958879889or if it is a BT run thing then maybe you have to use an o2 sms message no Thanks Have tried this no. plus a couple of other SMS centres but they all do the same ie only send to a mobile phone. Guest Raymond
May have to use an SD1/2 or the onboard digi and ARC. Well, the SD2 provides the SMS facility, but only through the O2 direct-input landline number. Not ideal if you dislike paying high tariff mobile calls.
