I have recently swapped an Optima XM for a Citadel XR2.

The replacement is fine but I am getting problems when adding a PIR and a window sensor to the Citadel.

The PIR is a Texecom Petwise PIR. Once installed all is OK on walktest but fails to activate the alarm when set. The zone is set as 'security'. LED lights up when in day mode.

The window sensor is an Everspring SA-219 Glassbreak sensor. I have wired this into a zone but will not activate. I have tried setting the zone as 'security', 'PTS' and 'Keyswitch' but none works.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks

Does the Citadel use end of line wiring? If so you will need to install a resistor inside the sensors to signal different conditions. Im sure someone on here will be able to find a wiring diagram for you.

Dale

If the system uses end of line signalling the system notices resistance ranges, if within a certain range the alarm will signal that a certain condition has occured, if there is 100% resistance then the system will probably signal tamper.

Does anyone have the Citadel XR2 man to hand to check wiring for Simon guys?

Dale

Check out the following link to the installation manual

Hope it helps

Check the panel out,

Remove the Zone wiring from the two problem zones.Programme each one as immediate,Defeat the tamper, set the system.

Does it set( yes- controller has a fault- replace it)

No-

Fit wire links to the zones,Set the system,Defeat the tamper, set the system.

Does it set (yes- remove a link- if it goes off, repeat the procedure for the other zone. If this works okay- fault is with the detector wiring.

No- controller has a fault- replace it.

Colin

Checked out the panel as suggested.

When zones 2 - 8 programmed for 'security' and all links removed the panel set OK. (Zone 2 had previously worked but now would not).

Zone 1 worked OK as entry/exit.

Removed all connections and panel still set when zones 2 - 8 open.

Looks like the panel is U/S.

Replaced with Texecom R8 and all OK except the window sensor which I cannot get to work.

Has anyone any experience of using an Everspring SA-219 Glassbreak sensor, preferably with a Texecom panel, that they can help with ?

The Citadel panel has a label on it stating that the warranty expires in April, 2005 but the Customer, who purchased the panel himself, has lost the receipt. Will he be able to return it to the supplier or should he go via the manufacturer ?

Dale - I'm not familiar with the Accenta 8 mini so cannot comment.

Thanks

I have connected the glassbreak to a zone on its own. The alarm will not set that zone which is programmed for immediate activation.

The glassbreak has a screw on the back which, when undone, allows the unit to rotate to setup the sensor. In this case rotating the sensor makes no different.

Does the panel need programming in a particular way for a glassbreak sensor?

The Citadel was not purchased from Marks & Spencer!!!!!!! I take your point about returning it.

Thanks

Simon
