Hi guys I have a problem with my very od system i changed the bell box and it worked ok with the new box with lid removed when i went to replace lid on control panel the alarm keeps sounding i can not turn it off the LEDS don't light up I.E tamper,day, attack and code does not respond. I have pressed the tamper switch on the control panel thanking you in advance. Ravi

Sounds to me like youve blown the aux fuse, probably connected the new bell wrong.

Where is this fuse? because both are intact in box and if i disconnect external bell the internal speaker still keeps on sounding

Exactly what connections have you made in the box and where have you connected them to in the panel?

what make and model of bell box is it?

I had this happen to me last week on an Accenta 6 (basically an Optima with a remote keypad). The panel locked up and would'nt accept any key presses after I'd change a bell box. You could try powering the panel down for 10 seconds or so, and then re-applying power battery first then mains second. This worked on the Accenta I was working on but I'm not at all familiar with the Optima XM's. I know they are quite a bit older than the Accentas so it might be worth getting an engineer out.

I have left it off for 2 hours Iam leaving it off overnight to see if that cures it I have disconnected the bell box.

I can try that tommorow but it is disconnected, at the moment internal speaker is sounding and i can't enter code.

You need at least another wire to connect the bell box correctly, ideally 5 wires. Is the cable running from the bell to the panel 4 core? If so you need to connect the unused core to the terminal marked "T" on the panel, and at the bell box connect it to the terminal makred "RTN" at the bell box. You should have it connected like so:

Red:

Panel end: "D" + supply to Bellbox: Hold Off +

Black:

Panel end: "A" - supply to Bellbox: Hold Off -

Blue:

Panel end: "B" bell trigger to Bellbox: connect to terminal marked "TRG" and take another wire from this terminal and link it to terminal "STB"

Yellow:

Panel end: "T" tamper return to Bell box: "RTN"
