Light Timers - Good or bad

Featured Replies

Yeah these were exactly my concerns, that a burglar might work out the timings, and his uncertainty about someone being in would be removed - he would definitely know that the place was unoccupied.

but still have good quality doors windows and alarm.

I would invest your money in good locks before timers, insurance companys like 5 lever locks on all external doors and they would not bother if you said you had a light on a timer.

Its them you have to keep on the right side, just in case you ever need to make a claim.

No the light comes on at RANDOM intervals throughout the night and off in the daylight. For example it might be on for an hour and then off for ten minutes then on again for half-hour then off for an hour etc. Good idea to have a few of these going at once. looks like people moving from room to room etc

thanks. Yes, it looks like regular timers are no good but random or variable timers are.

Such as this socket timer hooked up to a non-ceiling light attachment or a lamp.
