XP and SP2 Blocks files

Featured Replies

or try skype,

Skype Website

Its free & works like messenger, but no Microsoft or adverts...

files & messages are encrypted so should be more secure than msn.

If you have a wifi/GPRS enabled PDA or smart phone you can get a version to work on that too!

also enables free skype to skype calls and very cheap calls to landlines.

only one downside... have to pay for skypeout in Euros

Rich, you could try installing "File Extension Unblocker" attached here (I scanned the file for viruses & installed on my XP Pro SP2 system first). It changes registry key LowRiskFileTypes (REG_SZ)found under: \\HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Associations

All it does is changes the flag of potentially "unsafe" files to safe. You can still take out the ones you think may not be safe ie. exe, bat, com, vbs, etc...
