FPT - 200 GOLD almost strips itself doesnt it??

pretty much but this is a cool gadget to have.It's like a tube that opens and closes over the cable.Then you just turn it and pull off insulation.

Alot quicker than a pen knife

MM sounds good :) - I thought the whole idea of the 200 gold was the fact you didnt need a penknife as this can damage the insulation on the inner conductors? - so Gently using a pair of side cutters would damge the cable less when used correctly - I think maybe ive been tought wrong on the FP200Gold then LOL - back to the drawing board for me I think regarding this stuff :)

Dave,

You are probably right.I don't use FP Gold but Ventcroft,which the tool is very handy for.

If you have been instructed this way by Pirelli instructions you should be ok.

I got some of them cable quick rods from screw fix last week.

Should have got them years ago as they have saved that much time already.

Try the Smart Strip - little red plastic jobby with an adjustable blade from CPC or CEF etc about a tenner and well worth it. Excellent for FP cable.

I dont do fire anymore mate - this was about five years ago, I think they use somethimg similar now but the 200Gold is too damn expensive LOL

No, and sort of. I've used CK drivers for a while, I like 'em. Quality's good and I've got a few in my tool box.
