Alarm Recieving Centre's

We use two ARC's depending on what we require for the customer.

We use Custodian for RedCare and Dual com and all systems requiring Police response and we use Securecare for audio verification and all systems requiring keyholder response only.

My company specialises in helping the smaller independent alarm companies profit from offering monitoring to their customers. We take care of all the administration, connection to the ARC and annual invoicing and collection of renewals. We also offer free sales training and can supply demonstration kits so that the number of monitored customer you have increases. We expect 50% of customers to upgrade to monitoring - although our own installation company has around 80% of our domestic customers upgraded to monitoring.

I have used AIM in the past and although their service is fine and pricing is competitive, I prefer to connect customers to a monitoring station who don't have a security installation business. (I must be the untrusting type of girl!). Or maybe its that TYCO own AIM and I've heard that stands for Take Your Company Over!

The best advice is to shop around as most ARC's will compete for your business. Look out for other services they can offer you as well. For example custodian will carry out a direct mailing campaign on your behalf (free of charge) to your existing customers to try to get them to upgrade. You can also carry out basic tasks such as changes to keyholders using their website which makes the administration a lot easier.

 I probably should have said I don't like connecting to a monitoring station who have an agressive installation business of their own.

I haven't found a completely independent monitoring station who are approved - I don't know if such a thing exists!. Perhaps you know of one? Chubb is the lesser evil for us as they aren't particulary agressive in the area we install in (or in any other area as far as I can tell). In fact you'd be forgiven for not noticing they have anything to do with security other than manned guarding in this area. Have you ever quoted against them? Whereas I'm sure you've quoted against //.National Installer.//, Kings (UK Monitoring), Etc.

As I've intonated its more of a dislike for all things //.National Installer.///TYCO. I've had bad experience with //.National Installer.//'s customer service and it probably makes me biased?

I also dislike //.National Installer.///Tyco, and you can be certain that we are not the only ones.

What about Group 4 in Ireland, they don't install in this Country, also Abbott in london. I haven't used either of them yet but from what I have heard Group4 offer good service on all counts. Haven't heard anything about Abbot.

Have used SMS in the past and found them to be okay, but again they do have an installation business.

Not a lot of choice out there, if you want "independant"

Regards, Colin.

We use GRB Security, and have never had a bad word to say about them, there service is second to none, and they have nothing to do with alarm installing.
