March 19, 200521 yr comment_44813 hi everyone i have noticed a few posts on here about smoke screen security and it looks a good idea the only problem is, what about the fire alarm? this smoke screen would surely set it off! so how do you all manage to combat this situation short of changing all smoke detectors for heat? March 19, 200521 yr Author comment_44825 the other thing that bothers me with this concept is that in the event of a real fire during a break in it would be hard to distinguish between the two and also the smoke from the smoke screen would obviously make it increasingly hard to exit the building so all in all not a very good concept from an health and safety point of view. March 19, 200521 yr comment_44846 : BARBECUE i guess firealarms are linked to prevent smoke-screen operating in case of fire.. other thing that came to my mind is that if pyroman breaks in fire brigade might think that OK there is burglar inside and the smoke-screen caused firealarms to operate.. March 19, 200521 yr comment_44850 Smoke clokes are cool - especially when combined with the disco lights of the police cars giving that good effect. No wonder break ins to commercial premesis are becomming more popular. If i remember right they provide BA to fire brigade aswell so they see BA active (and smoke cloaks activate) first and FA after that. .. or something ... March 22, 200521 yr comment_45312 Secom do the smoke generators on Blockbuster and the fire alarms on Blockbustersa have exactly that HEAT DETECTORS.Jef nope sorry jef, busters dont all have heat and the fire alarm does activate when the smoke goes off and the brigade does get called even though we programme an o/p for smoke active to transmit to arc. crazy i know but i think its more of a customer requirement, also we use the protec smokes in other places and ive yet to see one that doesnt trip the fire alarm.
