Verits 8 Instructions

Featured Replies

I have inherited a Veritas 8 alarm system. I only have the instructions from the installation company, which are brief to say the least. I have just installed some additional PIR sensors, one is in the same room as the entry/exit door. The entry exit does not set off the alarm, but the PIR does, I need to know how to set a delay on this sensor aswell. If any one has any ideas, or can mail me a set of "Full" instruction I would be obliged.

Unfortunately we can't give out installation instructions, only user.

You'll need to set the PIR as a time inhibit zone.

Thanks, I dont actually require the manual, I just need to know how to set the PIR as a time inhibit zone, do I have to imput a series of numbers into the pad, or is it more to do with the hardware. If you are able to give me a clue it would be appreciated. Thanks for your quick response

You need to put the panel into engineering mode, which is something that may not be a default operation depending how it was set up. Once it's in engineering mode then you can alter the zone to a time inhibit.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you how to put the panel into engineering mode, sorry.

Ok I appreciate, thats how alarm people make their money, I'm in business for my self as well. I'll consider buying a DIY control panel and replacing the veritas. Thanks any way for you quick response.

Actually - its more a security issue, not so much a money issue :)

Nip down to your local CEF, buy another Veritas (all manuals included, even diagrams), and then you have a spare board...hey presto.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Did I ever say anything about money?

The Veritas is a DIY panel, the reason I won't give out info is because of the security aspect.

What's this obsession you've got with CEF and the Veritas? I know what you're trying to say but no CEF round here has Texecom in, actually, no-one round here has Texecom full stop.

I was being serious.
