This came up in a BSIA bulletin sometime ago - the fact that digicoms may not work if Broadband is activated on the line used for the ARC connection.

Does anyone know where I can find a definitive statement on this issue?

This is true, the signals get lost in the ADSL bandwidth, however this can easily be overcome by hardwiring a microfilter inside the control.
