Hi guys been having some issues with this panel, it seems a bit different from most scannys I've worked on.

I'm trying to send a confirmed alarm on this panel but it's in an occupied building. My first issue is trying to set 2 zones to a seperate area, in the programming menu it appears I can only set area numbers rather than the usual A, B, C, D. (Unless I'm doing something wrong)

2nd problem is when I try to set a particular area that isn't the default one I get the "areas can't be accessed" come up on the keypad.

Any help greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you're dealing with a security panel that has a different setup than what you're used to. Here are a few suggestions that might help you resolve these issues:

  1. Setting Zones to Separate Areas: If the panel uses numbers instead of letters for areas, you might need to refer to the user manual or programming guide specific to that model. Look for a section on area programming or zone assignment. It's possible that the panel requires you to assign zones to numerical area identifiers rather than alphabetical ones.

  2. Accessing Non-Default Areas: The "areas can't be accessed" message could indicate a few things:

    • Permissions: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions or access level to modify or access different areas. Some panels restrict access based on user roles.
    • Panel Configuration: Check if the panel is configured to allow access to multiple areas. There might be a setting that needs to be enabled to access non-default areas.
    • Keypad Limitations: Some keypads are limited to controlling specific areas. Make sure the keypad you're using is configured to access the area you're trying to set.

But this panel still has those settings , where are you trying to example add a zone to A or D , are you using the usual way go to specific menu?

What you mean by area numbers , where are you doing that ?

It maybe your doing things wrong order? Eg partitions won't work without areas right?
