f1eldsy
Morning chaps. Im sure this has been done to death but after some help/advice. Put a few of these systems in and yet to have any problems. However, the PIR’s on this recent system are slow to trigger. I can be literally a foot away with my hand and nothing. Ive seems few mention about the ‘always open’ option. How do I turn this on and is it worth it? any advice welcome. thanks chaps. sjsturner
You mean “always awake”? depletes battery life is the only problem. are you giving the PIR,s time after you set the system? Morning mate. As far as I believe the customer set the system, left and came back. The E/E didn’t pick her up. Nor did the kitchen PIR. yes always awake mate, sorry. how quickly do battery’s drain, roughly? sjsturner
I’ve never tried it mate to be honest, I doubt they would make it to the annnual service. the E/E a door cont? if so they are “always awake” anyway or should be. you may need to delete and then enroll and mesh if that’s the case. Does it walk test out ok? Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/41802-texecom-ricochet/#findComment-472283 Share on other sites

sixwheeledbeast
You really need a contact to start the entry/exit here, as this would be an always awake device. I am not sure which model PIR you have or how you are testing the functionality of it, but from what you say it's likely to be asleep for energy saving. Prodigious
Ive come across this a few times, tech support usually just say make sure you give it 15mims after setting system to test. i do find these kits ok though as a alternative to the wired system. What I do know though is don’t bother putting one in a conservatory , 3 times I’ve tried and 3 times I’ve been called back to move or generalyswitch off detector. Far to warm a environment!
