Allso
A new surface mounted magnet and switch have had to be mounted a few mm apart because of the design of a particular door & frame. All works fine now, but with time might the strength of the magnetic field decrease, and the distance become a problem? Allso

All works fine now, but with time might the strength of the magnetic field decrease, and the distance become a problem? 30327[/snapback] The maximum gap for a door contact and magnet according to the manufacturers is 20mm in most cases so a few mm shouldn't cause any problems. As for the magnet losing magnetism, it is unlikely but a new contact with fresh magnet is only a matter of pence and if that's too expensive just re-magnetise the magnet. Allso
The door/frame are uPVC. They are a lot nearer than 20mm, so looks as if its not an issue. Thanks Allso
