Hello,

We have a SD1 dialler installed in your house. This was installed some years ago and has worked with no problems, up until recently.

If the alarm is triggered, we have three numbers programmed to call to alert of an activation. We are now in a position where the recipient of the call cannot acknowledge the call by pressing '8', and in turn the message will keep repeating itself until trying the next caller. When trying to press '8', the recipient can hear a couple of clicks and nothing else. Previously, this acknowledged the call and a small melody was played.

I wondered whether this may be an issue with the particular phone, however it doesn't appear to be the case. I have tried different mobile handsets, and different mobile numbers, all to no avail.

There is a line connected which connects to the master socket with a filter. I have tried a different filter and also plugging directly into the socket however this has not worked.

From looking at the manuals, it appears you can force tone dialing, I have tried this and also checked the setting regarding how many acknowledgments need to be received, this is set to 1.

I would be grateful for any suggestions/advice regarding this issue. To our knowledge, nothing has been changed on the SD1 dialler, nor the phone line, so I am not entirely sure where this issue has stemmed from.

George

Have you got tones switched on on the Dialler on the phone, the SD1 needs either pulse dialling or short duration tones. Also the 8 button should be pressed for about 1 second.

Thanks.

Weirdly, I tested to another landline this afternoon, recepient pressed 8 and it accepted!

Seems to be an issue with mobiles. Samsung S7 and S3. Keypad tones on both, when pressing 8 you hear clicks and nothing else...
