Response 5000s

Featured Replies

What do you all think of the Response 5000s it is wireless and has a solar powered bell box . It also comes with a speech dialler , seems very easy to fit . Is it a worry about signal jamming with these model s

These kits are about £200, if you can afford that and are fairly competant at running wires you could buy yourself a hardwired kit at a cheaper price, and benefit from a more reliable system as well.

These wireless kits have there uses, but the basic kit has hardly enough detectors to cover the average house, extra sensors are around £35 each, so you might end up spending more on the kit, than had you payed an approved company to install a system in the first place.

Apart from perhaps the new breed of wireless panels coming out such as the Powermax, I`d never advise anyone to buy a wireless DIY kit over a hardwired system.

I agree with Dave, it is better than nothing but its obvious by the external box its a DIY effort.

Spend your money on a decent panel, it will serve you well for years.

Good luck.

B) I agree with wss I have been involved in about 6 or 7 installs with wire free stuff and every one of them has had a problem with trying to get the dectors to work where we want to put them, or they don't work at 20m in clear space.

Just hate them and I would never recomend them to anyone. (but thats just my thought)

Most diy radio systems I have seen only last about 6 months before they start going faulty.

Well thats it as you can tell I'm not a fan of radio stuff

B) I can give you a link to a site that does like radio but its like walking into a room with a master blaster going off you will want to get out faster than you went in.

PS don't ask for it its not worth it.

I think you should send the link to that guy Paul on the newsgroups Adrian

He just loves wireless, as you might tell from all his spam!
