October 22, 200421 yr comment_28611 Are there any offical qualifications required to be a security installer/service engineer? (all areas of security access control, cctv, intruder?) Eg btec or nvq? Can anyone recommend any good books or guides or web sites to increase my knowledge of security? For instance setting up cameras properly or fault finding intruder systems? October 23, 200421 yr comment_28642 There are new rules coming in from the ECA and the JIB concerning this, although I think it may only apply to building sites. Basically, newcomers to the trades, I think, will need qualifications to get their card. These are usually City & Guilds and/or NVQ's. Search the forum for 'CSCS' and you should find some links provided for me on the subject. If you don't know......ask.
