Hi All

I've got a Honeywell galaxy g2 44+. The system served me well for many years but was  decommissioned for about a year due to building work (when I say decommissioned I mean the builders decided to remove power and unplug it all).

Anyway I've got it all installed again, I want to check a couple of things please:-

  1. I previously had just an Elmdene internal speaker (16ohm) connected to the panel output 1002 (SPK driver) and to +ve AUX. Now I want to connect a second speaker as well as the Elmdene. I have a CQR Alto Extension speaker (Piezo) rated at impedence better than 16ohms.
  • Can I wire the two speakers in series? The instructions online for the Alto says it doesn't require a +12v power supply. I can put a resistor on parallel with the alto to ensure total resistance of the series circuit is approx. 16-20ohms. How does the Alto piezo work if it doesn't need +12v connected.

Sorry I accidently posted that without finishing.

Also I've got zone 1016 set as a spare and the system is telling me RF fail for zone 1016, not sure what is causing that? I haven't got any RF peripherals configured (but I did have in the old programming when the zone was in use). I thought "spare" disabled RF supervison, resistance checking on the zone etc.

Any advise appreciated.

Thanks

Ok thx. If I scrap the Alto then, can I put two elmdene 16ohm in parallel for a total of 8ohm.

or is there any other 2nd extension speaker I can use ( I need a low profile one if possible, the other half doesn't want a chunky eldene one).
