JasonOfOz
Hi Everyone, We have a door that is an emergency escape / panic door that is open to the elements. We also need to ensure this door is linked to access control. Similar doors in the building have had the Abloy EL560 locks fitted and their panic bar fitted but this one isn't externally rated. I would have thought there are plenty of externally rated panic bars around for use on public sport stadiums etc but i haven't found any that can also work with access control. If you have any ideas, please feel free to share Thanks. Arron
I think your door with panic bar is a mechanical device, while access control system only drives electric lock. Some panic bars have a relay running through them to cut the power off... Thanks ElecTech, it is something we considered but apparently some doors (i.e. panic doors) require the use a mechanical process to unlock. The ones that drop power to locks via microswitch are technically electrical so may not meet the necessary BS EN standards. Happy to stand corrected. ElecTech
When you say 'panic door' are we talking an emergency fire exit?
