Hikvision

Featured Replies

look at getting a hikvion dvr i have priced them up and this is the prices I have found

hikvision DS-7216HWI-SH with 2tb will cost £324

hikvision DS-7216HVI-SV/A with 2tb cost £195 that is the older modal out of the two.

has anyone used the hikvison dvr and witch one would you recommend using its only for a house CCTV

Only ever used the HIk NVR

Very good and if a new install I would go for the NVR and 2 MP ip cameras

Good mobile app

And free DDNS to get around the need of a static ip for remote monitoring

I would go for the newer 7216 hghi-sh then you can reuse any analogue cameras you already have, and upgrade to 1080p hd-tvi cameras on any channel plus you can add an additional 2 ip cameras.

I might have one in the workshop you can have for the same price as the old analogue hwi one.

Same as ACDC, I have only really used the IP range and as such the NVR's but it is great kit for the cost

If its a new install (i.e. no existing cameras) I would definitely go down the IP route rather than analogue, being the newer technology. I know there is a price difference between them but for the actual cost its a good investment. You even get PoE ports on some of the NVR's which really simplifies the install by just needing a cat5 or 6 cable and no power, depending on distances.

But that's just my take :)
