My manual says I can use the on board resistor or use external 1k res. I think it is only in reference to an eol detector. Specifically, what is an end of line device and do I need these external 1K resistors.

I have to agree with Adrian, it all depends on what equipment your using.

Sounds as though you may have a Galaxy panel though, so if thats the case then yes you must use them.

Wire the sensors as shown below.
