August 26, 200421 yr comment_21673 Hi everyone, I'm not an installer but is was wondering if anyone can answer this question: I have a Scantronic 9448M control panel to which i like to connect two smoke detectors. The smokes deliver +12V on their status output when triggered. Zone 5 on the panel can be programmed to be used for fire alerts. Now for the question: How can i connect these detectors to the zone input of the control panel? Do i need some sort of relais between the detector and controlpanel? If you know the answer please let me know (with a small schematic?) Thanks in advance Eric Edited August 26, 200421 yr by gowron Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/3409-connecting-smokes-to-scantronic-9448m/ Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 August 26, 200421 yr comment_21677 Eric are these specific security system smokes or general ones. 21676[/snapback] I think their normally used with fire panels and security systems. I don;t know the exact type but they are from Ajax (hexatron or something like that). They look rather professional. August 26, 200421 yr comment_21684 you could use the 12v output to drive a mini relay with the nc connected across the zone The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not) Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/3409-connecting-smokes-to-scantronic-9448m/#findComment-21684 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
