hi All,

New to the forum, hope the following makes sense.

WE have an Accenta 8 mini security system, and I have a problem with it. Ever since we had some new lounge carpet about 8 weeks ago, sometimes when I tread on the retaining strip by the door (under which I think the Accenta wiring to the lounge windows is situated) I get a single 'beep' and the control panel shows a single asterisk, as though I'd started entering the code to arm the system.

It's easy enough to sort out - press reset on the panel - but it shouldn't be doing this, and I wonder if anyone else has had this, and if they have, how did they sort it out?

The cable is under the carpet & is damaged would be my guess

As above, but I'll add obviously a cable is damaged and requires remedial action.
