January 11, 201214 yr comment_279783 I wouldnt go there! Even if it does what it says on the tin what if it goes wrong? I doubt there will be any back up or help if it does. If your looking for a cheap wireless pannel why not try the powermax plus kit from security warehouse? January 12, 201214 yr comment_279808 It all depends on what you mean by better? What features do you require? Different engineers will recommend different systems some swear by the powermax plus others swear at it the same can be said for any other system you can buy. If you advise us of what you require from the system and a budget im sure most of the members on here will be more than happy to suggest a system. January 12, 201214 yr Author comment_279810 well it would be nice to have GSM/mobile access to set reset the system, and maybe IP/BB access to it also, the ability to add/upgrade in a few years would be good, so something current and not near end of line would be good. I have a current alarm system, so guess my existing wired bell box will be OK ? Many Thanks JD Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/32413-defender-wireless-gsm-system/#findComment-279810 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 January 12, 201214 yr comment_279812 Your existing bell box should be ok you will have to note how it is wired though and transfer that to the new pannel. I would suggest a honeywell g2 2-20 or 2-44 if you want to add to or upgrade in the future as these are hybrid pannels and will allow you to add wireless detectors and contacts at a later date without having to run cables. It also means you might be able to salvage some of your existing kit. As far as gsm/mobile moduals go they are very expensive most more than the cost of the pannel and not having much to do with them myself i could not recommend anything to you. There may be more information about gsm in other threads so have a look around and see what you can find. Sorry i cant be more helpful.
