I'd normally triple up on the power with eight core (red/white/orange-black/grn/brown). Even on small runs.

The data is fine up to 100m on one pair in the standard star setting, will go up to 250m daisy setting.

Is the Star/Daisy jumper fitted?

Have you tried changing the address switches in "Confirm Devices"? Flick them one way and flick them back, can fix!

Address dip switch 1 is On and 2-4 Off for Expander 1, is this correct?

T and R the correct way round at both ends?

What are the data lights on the expander doing?

Hi,

I didn,t know there was a Star/Daisy jumper. I've checked the cables and all seems ok, the lights on the expander ......one green in the middle : always on one gree on the right : steady on and off and thats it

The jumper must be fitted to something normally star.

I'm pretty certain the steady flashing indicates the expander is not receiving data, normally flashes in quick pulses.

What are the Tx/Rx lights doing on the panel?

Have you checked the cable for shorts between cores, broken cores and earth faults?

I'm gonna pop in tomorrow with a new expander and go through the whole thing again.
