For installations requiring dual communication the backup or primary path can be defined as PSTN, GSM or GPRS with the later providing low cost, data signalling over the mobile IP network.

Apart from lower cost Visonic GPRS advantages are fast, secure signalling to ATS grade 4 over an IP network and point to point polling. In premises where there is no PSTN line or it is in accessible, GPRS is the perfect alternative to GSM.
