Chiron Iris Plus Ip Tx Achieves Vds Approval.

Chiron’s IRIS Touch alarm signalling technology has become the first to achieve top-level VdS approval, further confirming its significant technological lead over its competitors. Two years ago Chiron pulled ahead of the market when it became the first manufacturer in the sector to gain independent EN certification through the VdS testing house.

Chiron’s new approval is for VdS certification to the German requirement, which is seen as the gold standard in product testing in key European markets including Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Scandinavia. This is on top of the already achieved EN 50131-6 VdS accreditation. “VdS provides the most rigorous independent testing programme for security, fire and safety products,” says Wim Harthoorn, Chiron’s Business Development Manager. “For all those who rely on alarm systems – including end-users, the police, ARCs and insurers – VdS approval gives the highest possible level of assurance.”

The new certification has been awarded to Chiron’s market leading IRIS Touch 400 series, including the IRIS Touch 400, the IRIS Touch 420 and the IRIS Touch 440 diallers.

It means that IRIS Touch technology can now be used to migrate any existing control panel to IP alarm transmission, providing an easy, economical and totally secure solution to the changes in telecom networks which are taking place in Germany and other key European markets.
