Fire Relay

Featured Replies

Just back from call to a fire activation we have a site with a Menvier M1000 panel (with a redcare connection) which has a zone progg as fire and wired to a Morley ZX1se fire panel through fire relay which sits at the top of the panel tonights alarm was activated on the intruder zone but not on the fire panel tested cable / zone connections both ends ok all fine but no clue as to fault we have the same set up on another site and had a problem from the start with relay changing resistance not opening just giving high resistance at times we bypassed this relay and connected to the original lower down on the main pcb and has been fine ever since any one had similar problem or could suggest where to look possibly some one could copy to fire section as we have never managed to get access to that section, thanks .

I take it the M1000 zone is programmed as fire and not intruder.

It will still need the tamper circuit to be closed at all times. Did you read the logs on the M1000? Was it a fire or tamper on fire zone?

Is the zone wired in as Double Pole or EOL?

M series are pretty stable panels....................tried swapping zones and seeing what happens. If it happens on another zone its the relay or fire panel at fault.

Unless...........Your getting AC inductance from the rely onto the M panel, they do not like that.

Is there no way of bypassing the Menvier and hard wiring the relay from the fire panel straight to Pin 1 on the Redcare? I would also try ditching any auxilliary relays so there is just a straight cable from the fire contacts on the fire panel PCB to Pin 1 on the STU.

All depends what is powering the STU really. Common negs and all that.

We had exactly the same problem with a TS2500 and Morley Panel. False triggered 3 times, couldn't find anything wrong. Put the zone on double knock in the end and dropped the timer down to 5 seconds. No further problems, and lets face it in a genuine fire the relay will be open for more than 5 seconds so will activate when required.

This is a good example of why you should not send fire signals via an intruder panel.

As already mentioned hard wire the digi if possible and bypass the intruder panel.

I'm with luggsey on this one. Why wire through the intruder? Personally would stick it on its own SD1 or into redcare.

Thanks for replies have been back today as went off again same fault nothing in fire panel only in intruder panel and no other problems in log we have it through M1000 so we have more control over signaling eg we can have only sig out when system set . have moved from top relay board down to original on main pcb to see if this will make any difference have noticed in Morley Install manual the Aux relay has a Minimum switched load 1mA @5v as we are using it as a zone contact their will be no load on it ?? think the double knock and 5 sec timer could be a good move thanks again monty.

You can tell central station what to do with the signals, system set call brigade, unset call site first then brigade.

You can do all that with one digi hard wired.
