Hi folks,

I have a Galaxy G3 with ethernet module, IPs are all setup and it responds to a ping ok, now when I try to connect with Galaxy Gold (set to TCP/IP) it sits for ages saying Checking Password, I don't know what it wants as a password, the help file says that this message means:-

"Confirm the password on the Galaxy Gold site file and the Galaxy panel match."

I cannot find anywhere to set a password for the panel, I have been through most of the options in menus 47 and 56, eventually after a few minutes it just times out saying "Cannot Communicate with Remote Module."

you cant use the old gal gold on the newer g3 / dimension panels. Ask whereever you got the gak gold from about the newer version

My G3 panel is a 144C V 5.00, I thought this would work with it?

Its called Security Directors Gold version 6.26, it came with the alarm, I bought it all from Ebay about 2 years ago, just got it all wired up but ethernet not working, is this the wrong software? If so where I can buy the right software?

I'm having a similar problem, I've got RSS version 1.80, I borrowed the works laptop over the weekend with RSS installed.

But also mine will connect fine, but hangs on checking password as well... will sit there all day, but my panel is a G2-20 (im using modem not tcp/ip)

sounds like the passwords dont match. or you have a tel line problem

Would it not through an error up though?, and is this password the 8 digit one which is under 56-12-4 "downloader ID" or is there another password somewhere on the panel?.

P.S RB mate, comm settings im guess is 1200Baud, stop bits 1, parity none. no compression?.
