Query Re Accenta Mercury Intruder Alarm System

Featured Replies

I have bought a house that has this intruder alarm. Although I have instructions it does not tell me if I can disconnect the alarm at all. I am having some decorating work done and one of the monitors will be affected slightly. There is a switch in the fuse box labelled alarm, can I turn this off, do the work and then turn it back on with no ill effect. I have been advised that it may not be this simple as there may be a back up battery?? and when I turn off the switch in the fuse box the alarm may start ringing (in which case I wouldn't then know what to do.

Can anyone advise me on this

many Thanx

if you think about it 2 things

1. if it were that easy would all burglars not just do that?

2. if we said on a public forum 'do xyz to disable this alarm' then we might be in for a bit of critism?

you are right there is a bit more to it than that. Id advise you either decorate around it, or call a company in to disable that part while the work is done.
