Veritas 8

Featured Replies

I hope someone can point me in the right direction on this.

Veritas 8 blows the bell fuse (fs2) only when the back up battery is connected.

If i remove the battery, or the battery fuse all works ok. I just wondered if i am over looking something simple, or a possible goosed panel.

The battery will power the panel with no mains, i havent tried the bell on just the battery though. Very strange, any advice would be a great help.

Sounds as though there may be a fault with the battery.

Have you tried replacing it ?

Like i said before, the battery will power the panel and there is around 12v on it, could there still be a fault with it?

According to the sticker it was replaced in 98.

Something else i forgot to add, it only blows the fuse when the alarm goes off. I thought at first it was a faulty bell, but it works fine when powered off the mains.

:o 98 its 5 years old whatever you do bin it and get a new one.

even if it shows 12v it can still be faulty. I think you need to do this then get back to us with the result.
