OrsonKart
Hello Our Rascal+ is around 16 years old and has never had a battery change. When the power goes off it sounds the external bell, which I assume means the internal battery has gone and needs replacing. Is it just a case of powering off, opening up the unit and replacing the battery? Would I have to enter any special codes, other than our alarm number? Failing that, since we never use the alarm, is it a simple job to disconnect the bell? Thanks Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/24256-changing-a-rascal-battery/ Share on other sites
Chorlton
Yes it is a simple job to open the panel & change the battery (be aware & careful as mains voltages are present in the panel) and entering your normal user code should silence the alarm when it sounds upon opening the panel. No special codes or disconnecting of the external bell (we can't help you as to how to do that anyway) should be required. good luck. C. OrsonKart
Thanks for that. The plan is to have a quick peek inside, note the battery type and then trot off to Maplins. Are these batteries readily available do you know? I understand about the bell. OrsonKart
Thanks for the figures. I'll give them both a call tomorrow and get their prices. Senate is a further 10km down the A34 than Maplins so I'll allow Maplin an extra few quid for the reduced time and petrol. I appreciate your help.
