Speech/text Diallers Question

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of getting a Speech/Text dialler. The Menvier SD2 looks like good value from here:

I'm particularly interested in the texting aspect of it. I was wondering how you get charged? I know that you can't just send a text message. Our mobile phones do this via a message centre. So when you buy one of these things, do you have to set up an account?

Or has technology moved on now so that it'll just work and I don't need to worry about this?

hi m8

it actually sends the text message down the standard phone line (bt,talk talk ect). It works the same as sending the text message from your home phone.

I have no knowledge of this because I don't have any home phones that can send text messages. So do I get charged per text message on my bill? (I'm with Talk Talk btw)

If you have a home phone you can text via e.g. BT text.

yes you do get charged per text, its not alot but then your text/speech dialler should never really have to text you, unless your alarm has gone off......
