April 8, 200818 yr comment_194507 Hi folks, I've just registered here in the hope someone might be able to help with me a query regarding my Veritas 8 alarm. This morning, the fuse for my lights at home blew. I turned off the power for everything at the mains while I removed the blown fuse. When I switched the power back on at the mains everything worked okay - plug sockets, oven etc - except for my alarm. The power light on the alarm panel is flashing on and off and I was unable to set the alarm on Full as I left the house. The battery in the alarm is a couple of years old. I'm unsure what to do next - any suggestions gratefully received! Thanks in advance. April 8, 200818 yr comment_194508 Hi , The green flashing light indicates a power supply problem , so either the mains to the panel is missing , or more likely the battery has run down and the panel is indicating this as a problem. You may find that the light will stop flashing soon , but it may be wise to get it checked out and possibly a new battery fitted. Regards. April 8, 200818 yr Author comment_194511 The alarm was last serviced about two years ago. Thanks for your suggestions with this, it really is much appreciated. I will try and pick up a new battery later today and see if that solves the problem. Fastcar - if it was a problem with the mains to the panel, would this be solved by fitting a new fuse in my fusebox or would I need to address something within the panel itself? April 8, 200818 yr comment_194513 There should be a fused spur close to the alarm panel with a 3amp fuse , there is also a fuse within the panel at the incoming connector block. Be careful around hazardous voltages ..if in doubt , get an engineer to check it out. April 8, 200818 yr comment_194518 Thats definately a knackered battery. Had it many times. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not) Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/22848-veritas-8-power-query/#findComment-194518 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 April 9, 200818 yr Author comment_194571 Thanks for all the suggestions - I've rewired the fuse in the mains box and fitted a new battery inside the panel and we now have power back. Since restoring power, though, the Tamper light is permanently lit - can anyone suggest how to remedy this?
