What Panel Would You Recommend Please?

Featured Replies

Hello all you alarm Gurus

Being recently retired from the firm featured in Life on Mars I am well aware of the importance of a reliable intruder alarm. I have in fact visited the scene of countless burglaries over the years and am well aware of the physiological and emotional effect this has on the victims. It is with this in mind that I want to keep the little devils out and have decided to upgrade my system.

What I have at the moment is a wired system and would like to keep it this way however I would like to add further zones wirelessly. All I need is a simple panel with one code which would be known to my family. I am not particularly interested in knowing the times the alarm was set etc. The possibility of the system phoning me on activation would be nice.

Can any of you experts please, please recommend a panel the will fulfil my needs.

Thanks in anticipation

Jim

Not really for DIY installation but the Galaxy G2 has options for wired and wireless, up to 20 or 44 zones depending on model - 3-5 year battery life for detectors makes it an attractive option. It can incorporate your existing zones and add the rest wirelessly. It would be sensible to have an installer fit and programme it and of course that would cost you but get some quotes from small companies and you should get a reasonable charge to have a reliable system for many years to come.

The gardtec CPX/490X Wireless kit will do all you need, very good stuff.

A good recomendation, Why do u want the new sensors to be wireless? Is it because you are completing the installation your self? Maybe worth getting a couple of company's in to give you a price on the work, you might be surprised lol

which ? the recommendation for a 490x / cpx (excellent panel - does all you require and more) or the bits I`ve highlighted, itallic`d and bolded from your opening post LOL

you want a reliable but simple, secure but single coded, effective but cheap DIY upgrade and your an ex policeman - spend yer pension and get one with a well known, reliable, recommended and effective local companies logo on it (your wasting your time otherwise IMO)

non intended

Being recently retired from the firm featured in 'Life on Mars', I still say you should go for the Galaxy.
