Dome Focus.

Featured Replies

Hi all, any of you out there had a problem with external PTZ dome not focusing properly???

Dome set on Tour via several presets and has worked well for about 4 weeks along with the 6 others on the system.

In the last week the focus on one camera appears to have lost focus.

Setup is still on Autofocus??

Dome is clean??

Any suggestions.

cheers.

What make of dome?

Have you tried a master reset?

s q. not tried reset yet, but we are on site tomorrow

Crystal ???

can you still manually focus the dome? If not than the servo-motor for the Iris might be faulty.

Have you tried power cycling the dome? Sometimes does the trick as well.

cheers,

Alex

It's not a VCL by any chance is it?

There was a bad firmware in some of the domes a few years ago.

I was having the same problems with a batch of them.

VCL sent out new firmware chips for them all.

I had similar with some Dennard domes about 3 years ago. 2050's possibly (if thats the correct number). The image would momentarily go out of focus then back in sharp. Every now and then likes but maybe several times a night. Never caused a problem until it got dark and rain had coated the dome cover. It would sometimes not quite come sharp. I thought this may be a feature of the dome to be honest.

I spoke to soon, customer not happy again, camera lasted 3 days but has now reverted back to very blurred image.

Certainly looks like a camera intermittent fault but why does it clear on power up.??

I suppose we will have to remove camera and return to supplier for repair (haf a day for two men) and system only been installed for less than a month.

Any further information or advice greatfully received.

:( Thanks
