Guest anguscanplay
No irony or sarcasm intended, it was interesting to get the views even though not directed at my original question. I am definitely a do it yourself if you can type, sometimes I do wonder if I should let go and let someone else do it for me. But as I type this I think of the times I have let garages loose with my car, never once have I been back to the same garage, a subject for another forum perhaps. I am not taring you guys with the same brush at all, but just trying to explain me. sorry - I mean the biscuit boy was been sarcastic LOL Told you at the top " just do it ..........." and you really dont need to be appologising we dont have a problem with your " attitude " ( not meant in a negative way ) cause for now the industry is still open to unqualified persons " having a go......" and it always adds to the bill when one walks in the door and see`s the classic signs of a DIY disaster, but like I said to a new guy this week " IT AINT EXACTLY GIVING THE LOUNGE A NEW COAT OF EMULSION NOW IS IT........." might it be benificial to do the maths as a callout to disconnect, service, reconnection, reproggraming(as its a new house ?) and a guarentee weighed up against a dead panel,no alarm for a week, curcuits progged wrong ( or worse off ) and false alarms, noise notices, neighbour disputes and un paid insurance claims seems like a bargain to me ........... Angus So lets get this straight all you want to do is put 1 cable through the hole ? why dont you just drill another hole at the side of the original hole to accomodate the wire and maybe fit the other wires that you mentioned surely that would be easier or am i missing something here? magpye
............ or am i missing something here? from post #9 ........... There is no place to put another hole, I could get the cable from a to b via a few other routes all of which would look rubbish, I could rip the floor up to hide it, you get the idea. Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care.
