Fermax Door Entry

on the drawing i pulled of the manuals site it is fermax ref 3569,

it is a six phone/monitor, single entry with video and audio system

with 1 ac power supply ,, voltage fine

1- dc power supply ,, voltage ok

1- 4 way video distributor, mod no 2449

1-2 way video distributor mod no 2448

this installation is two years old

was run in 8 core alarm cable and rg59

and is all in working order appart from

no camera trigger when visitor calls residents phone

but resident can get piture by pressing monitor button on phone

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

how does the triger work?

when you call a phone does the phone send the triger back to 2 on the video distributor , then the distributor send triger to camera from 3 .?

if i triger camera from monitor phone so i do get picture i get 8 volts positive

on ct at camera

It really sounds like a Fermax technical job to me, it must be the video switching, if the audio and buzzer to the phones work when the front panel is calling and you can manually select video from the handset then it "has" to be a switching fault.

Fermax tech should be able to tell you how the signal to the phones is handled, I would assume the phone itself uses the same signal as the buzzer and simply turns on it's video display?

You don't say (or I didn't see) if this is a multi door install with a switcher as these can give trouble....

Give Fermax a rocket and get them to help you! B)
