July 23, 200718 yr comment_173069 Hi, I am looking for some recommendations of good quality, "as installed by the trade" PIRs. I installed, a long time ago, a Pyronix panel and Pyronix Colt detectors. The panel is now a Veritas 8 and I am looking to swap out the detectors. I am happy to go for dual-tec as I want to eliminate false alarms. Suggestions please. July 23, 200718 yr comment_173097 For a domestic dual tech, I would look at the Optex MX40. Not much bigger than a passive and blends in nicely. Reliable too. The Honeywell 7550 is OK, seen a few failures though... The Guardall DT pictured in the first reply is gigantic in real life. Not something I'd want in my lounge for sure!
