If the buttons have 'locked out' and tamper is showing you can't of replaced the lid properly, there is a small spring on the pcb which has to be compressed against the panel lid. Try refitting the lid again and see how you get on.

Thanks chaps, the lid was closed properly; however, as I also had cleaned out the PIRs, I decided to reopen one again and close it. This seemed to cause a bleep to occur on the panel. Subsequently, I was allowed to press the RESET button and the 'Day' mode reappeared. Strange, but this worked...

I suppose I'll have to wait now to see if I get a future 'false alarm'.
