Gees Posted March 31, 2007 Share Posted March 31, 2007 I have a Gala 18 here at home with a RIO attached, (2 modules.). The other night the EE horn sounded so I went to investigate. The panel told me there where 8 tamper alarms, All originating from the rio. I then disabled the rio ( psu and a/b completely removed) and the system then told me it was gone ( all as expected so far ) When I then reconnected the rio and the system detected it there where 3 tamper alarms (1,2 & 5) I then had to spare these zones to get the alarm to set... (1) get the rio replaced and this should iliminate this as the cause (2) have investigated the course of the three remaining tampers. finally when did you have this lovely panel last serviced? The "lovely panel" has been installed here for about a year with no problems at all. I have the full installatin manual and have a 30 year career in Electronics. I am an IT professional and fully understand eol resistors etc. The zones in question have a 1k directly into the connectors ( These are 1% tolerance fitted by myself and not moved since) I reckon the rio is a gonner so its back to Ebay... Bloody spiders nest ( all sort of sticky ) on ths back of the pcb right next to one of the chips. It must be nice and warm in there.. Removed and now all OK Rio by the way is in an outhouse...
