March 13, 200719 yr comment_158147 My Accenta6 system keeps triggering even when its not set! It can be anytime day or night with no discernable pattern. When it does go off the "Tamper" light is illuminated and using the normal system code disarms it. I have what i believe is a standard system with main board in the loft, keypad downstairs and visible alarm box outside. I think the backup battery was replaced about 2 years ago. Any idea's as to whats causing the problem. Known in the trade as an Intermittant Tamper Fault, the cause can be quite tricky to find as it's usually gone when an engineer attends. It can be caused by many things such as a loose wire, damaged cable, detector or bellbox lid not fitting correctly, corroded connections etc etc. It would be best to get the assistance of an engineer, faults such as this can be awkward to fix even with all the right test gear. ........................................................
