a bit of a laff with arf this one,

the sugestion of painting camera housings in another thread made me think of about a cctv job i did about 15 years back.

i was asked to fit a camera under a low porch on a house, client paronoid about her child being kidnapped but did not want a massive camera spoiling the facade, external or even internal mini domes were just not available then. so having searched arround i used a mono computar 'spotlight' camera

Anyone driving down Kirkstall Road in Leeds will see a garage and car sales with floodlighting mounted on 4 posts. Those posts are cast iron pipes from the heating system of a demolished school.

... and the protective covers on top of them are the inverted bottom half of a plastic coke bottle... fastened on with large jubilee clips. I fitted them 15 years ago and last time I passed (last year) they were still there!

I must admit I am amazed that the uv hasn't frazzled them years ago, but they were the earlier plastic bottles and quite sturdy compared to the newer ones.

so must have bee diet coke bottles perhaps?

i've had that turkish coffee, its ok until you forget and make the nasty mistake and decide to empty the cup, now if i could imaging what the bottom of a babies pram tasted like - i'm sure that would be it to a 'T'
