Hi all, name's Paul, been a sparks since leaving school and spent all of my working life as a Sparks, fire engineer, intruder engineer, CCTV sometimes and loads of access and intercom stuff.

Specialised in Gent fire alarms and Morley for many years.

I did almost all of the electricial and fire/access breakdowns on the company I last worked for (15 years) but sadly they now pay unskilled workers the same rate as skilled! Said bye bye to them over that and the non existance of any prospects with them. That said they allowed me to experience almost every sort of job you could imagine, from fixing printing machines, chicken house alarms, road salt brine mixing machines, swimming pool control systems and electricial covers special control panels for bespoke work, huge shopping centre fire alarm commisioning, underground cable jointing, MI cable in churches, Scantronic and Menvier large intruder systems, pager systems giving fire text, sewage pumping systems, nurse call systems from the old Gent ones to the latest wireless and data systems, PC control systems, computer network wiring, telephone/data networks in fact any job involving electricial systems except cars. I did used to rewire petrol tankers to insulated earth though! I never did much install work as I was always out fixing stuff and getting new stuff working for others! I am building an extension to the house now, when it stops raining that is! Changed the alarm panels in my house and workshop today to Menvier 900+, nice to use a laptop to program stuff!

Hobbies, Fully licensed radio amateur call: M0SCI. Landrover fan, PC nut, and now a bedhead which is a term for a fool who runs a Bedford campervan.

I would like to get into the trade section of the forum but being between jobs at the mo makes it hard?

I will be looking for a job towards the end of the year in the North Devon area if anybody wants me! :D

Changed your firms name recently..........

Ok thanks for that, I will drop you a line later in the year after I've built the extension and done all the other ground works where I live now.

I don't know your Christian name and can't look at your profile as I'm a "nontrade" member of this forum...... :fear:
