If I was to watch the video output from a 470 TVL cctv camera on a 27" LCD tv how should the picture quality compare to me watching eastenders on the same tv using analogue bbc1?!!

cctv doiesnt show as well on lcd as it does con crt, but 470tvl cctv has a slightly different type of picture anyway as its digital, not analogue, i would say it would be better.

I must be living in a parallel universe cause all my cctv cameras (apart from IP ones) are definitely analogue.

PAL (ie british tv) is something like 625 TV lines.

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
its digital outpur from a camera as its composite video not rf. maybe im wrong but not usually!

Composite video is also analogue.
