What elements of the alarm sysytem would cause this fuse to blow? Hi Joe. I imagine the damage could be quite extensive. :'( Lightning damage is completely unpredictable so your question is a bit like how longs a piece of string! Rather than possibly causing more damage by trying sort it out yourself I would leave it to the professionals. Why not post your postcode and let some local guys message you and get it sorted out by the pros. Paul. System Q Ltd. I am an Electroninc Engineer by profession and thought I could give it a shot. I enjoy tinkering! Unfortuntly getting the circuit diagrams is a bit difficult as I have read on this forum. To date I have disconnected the Voclaiser as I belive this was the path the lightning took but to no avail. In the process of metering out the various parts of the system. Is there anywhere which supplies the various CCT boards? leesutton
Disconnect all the power to your devices then replace the fuse and see if the fuse blows if it does its your board, if it dosnt add your device power back to the panel one at a time then as it blows theres your problem. lee  Lee Sutton E-Mail: leesutton@centurianfire.co.uk Website: www.centurianfire.co.uk Phone: 0845 094 9870 CENTURIAN FIRE & SECURITY (part of centurian group limited) Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/11467-sterling-10-blowing-aux-fuse/#findComment-108502 Share on other sites
Guest rjbsec
Hello folks, I was recenlty struck by lightning and my alarm seems to have gor hit. It is a sterling 10 with a Vocaliser connected. What elements of the alarm sysytem would cause this fuse to blow? With a lightning strike, not only can it cause immediate problems it can also store up problems for the future by causing damage to chips anywhere on the system - you would be far better off getting an engineer to check the system and possibly replace it as an insurance claim. This is the best option as it will eliminate the possible need for more repairs later when components fail as a result of damage caused by this strike and for which you cannot then claim on your insurance.
